Michael Harris, CEO, Harris Communications Consulting, LLC
Michael Harris has been working in and around the cable television and telecommunications industries for more than three decades. Nationally and internationally, he has helped companies and industry associations evaluate and deploy new technologies, decide whether to acquire new products or companies, and better manage matters from regulatory compliance to construction. Currently, as a member of the CommScope Broadband Technical Advisory Board, Michael is involved in everything from developing new products to providing training for professional staff. Regardless of the assignment, Michael brings his extensive knowledge and commitment to managing within budget constraints.

Prior to launching Harris Communications Consulting in 2005, Michael held high-level positions in cable television operations with industry-leading companies including Centennial Cellular, Century Communications, and Citizens/Frontier Communications. As Senior Vice President of Engineering and Chief Technical Officer, he also introduced cellular telephone operations in Puerto Rico and satellite direct to home technology in Australia. In each of these roles, Michael proved adept at evaluating and optimizing operations for performance and cost savings.

Michael is an active member of the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers, Society of Cable Television Pioneers, IEEE, American Radio Relay League, Loyal Order of the 704 and the Cable Center. He’s an active amateur radio operator (W1MH) and has an FCC General Radio Telephone and Second Class Radio Telegrapher license. He also serves on various boards both industry related as well as community based. Michael served in the US Army and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service in Vietnam, March 1970.
